Giving details

When talking about our habits, routines or things that happen regularly we sometimes want to give more details about the frequency of these actions. One way to do it is using expressions such as: always, sometimes, never, on Friday, every week, twice a month, once a year, etcetera.

Paul: Do you have healthy habits? Kate: Yes, I drink water and do exercise.
Paul: Do you have healthy habits? Kate: Yes, I always drink water. I drink water in the morning, at midday, and at night. I do yoga three times a week, but I normally run 30 minutes every day.

As you could see, there are expressions that help us share more about ourselves. The same happens when talking about past events.
