Hey guys! Welcome to my blog. A good way to develop your writing skills in any language is practice. Blog posting is a good idea to do it. You will get some tips on this post. Let’s practice by writing your ideal biography. Take a look at the following information.

What is a blog post?

A normal record of someone's thoughts, opinions, or experiences put on the internet that can be read by people.

What is a biography?

The life story of a person written by another person. It usually includes narrative tenses.

Steps to follow when writing a biography.

  • Be respectful and tolerant towards other people's comments.
  • Organize your ideas.
  • Write short paragraphs.
  • Use punctuation marks, connectors and capitalization correctly.
  • Mention relevant events in Past Tense.
  • Include time expressions in Past as well as dates and years.

For example:

Daniel Green was born in Juneau Alaska in 1967. When he was 5 years old he moved to the USA with his parents. His childhood was very happy because he had good friends at elementary school. He was at the Drama club because he dreamed of becoming an actor.

In 1997 he auditioned for a very important company to performa play at Broadway. His dream came true...

Writing exercise

Now it is time to put these tips into practice. Imagine you are writing the biography of one of your friends called Teresita Gonzalez. You are going to write three short paragraphs in the comments section. Verbs, connectors and auxiliaries and some other words are included to give you ideas for each paragraph, you have to use them and add time expressions and dates or years.

Paragraph 1 ( be born / childhood / live / play / have / be / there is / there are / didn’t / then / attend / elementary school / when / friends / great).

Teresita González was born on May 13th 2004 in CDMX. She lived with her parents in a big house. There was an elementary school near her house and she studied there. She had many friends. Her childhood was great.

Paragraph 2 ( be / teenager / sports/ study / play / favorite/ then / after that/ friends / music / the bus / take / eat / have lunch/ plan / Japanese / Language center / didn’t / guitar / band).

When she was a teenager she studied Japanese at a Language center. She didn’t play any sports. She had lunch with her friends and after that she took music lessons. Her favorite band was Muse and she played the guitar in a school band. When the classes finished , she took the bus to go home.

Paragraph 3 ( University / professors / interesting / there is / there are / be / have / go / do / didn’t / wasn’t / weren’t /study / meet/ cheap cafeteria ).

At University, she met interesting professors and she had a lot of work. There was a cheap cafeteria where she had lunch. She studied hard and wasn’t a lazy student. She went to the library everyday and did homework there
