According to research, some technology trends that will shape tourism in the future are:
- Virtual reality. It is going to allow you to experience far away locations from the comfort of your home.
- Self-check-in. We won’t have to wait in huge lines to get to the airplane or wait to get checked into hotel rooms.
- Robots. They are going to be used to do several jobs. They will be 24/7 workers who can help by answering the questions all travelers have at some point of their trip, analyze your body temperature, and adjust the air conditioning, or carry your bags to your room.

According to Australian based futurologist Craig Rispin from Seek.com, life sciences and the services are the most potential industries in the future. It is believed that there will be jobs such as drone and robot managers in the service industry.
