Writing exercise

Look at the pictures below. This is the story of how Giselle met her favorite singer. Use the words in each picture to describe what happened in each one. Don’t forget to use simple past verbs, subject pronouns, possessive adjectives and correct punctuation. Follow the example.

Now, imagine you are Giselle and that you want to share your experience on a blog. Use the information in the previous activity to write a paragraph describing how you met Dua Lipa. Include connectors like First, Second, Then, After that, Finally, because, but or and. Remember that you can include extra information (e.g. Yesterday I planned to visit Duma park with my brother and my cousin. We spent all morning there and we had great fun together).

The day I met my favorite celebrity

Yesterday I planned to visit Duma park with my brother and my cousin. We spent all morning there and we had great fun together. When we were about to leave, guess what? We saw Dua Lipa who just passed by us. I was shocked because I didn't believe my eyes but then my brother told me that it was Dua. She was here on vacation.

First, I had to be sure that it was her so we ran up to her and I called her name. Then, she looked at us, stopped and started talking to us. She was so sweet! After that, I asked her to take pictures with her. We talked for a few minutes and then she said goodbye. I felt really excited. Later, we went to eat at a famous restaurant called “La Mesita” and Dua Lipa was there again! Finally we went home and I felt happy because it was a wonderful day. Dua is my favorite celebrity and it was my favourite day.
